Help Build A New Barn
We Are Building A New Barn For Our Older and Less-Sound Retired Horses

We need your help.  To date, Cabin Creek has guaranteed Lifetime Retirement for every ex-racehorse that have passed through our adoption program. Cabin Creek presently provides long-term care for 20 returned retirees residing at our facilitiy. And these Lifetime Retirement numbers will continue to increase as our retirees age and begin to develop physical problems associated with their past racing careers.

About a dozen of our older, less sound retirees now need 12-hour access to the comfort and security of a stall. Winter’s cold weather and summer’s heat are harder on many of these older or less sound horses. To better accommodate our returning retirees and to continue our efforts to transition racehorses from the track, we are now building a new 12-stall barn.

Cabin Creek's New Barn

Please help us build this new 40’ X 84’ barn.

Construction for the barn is underway.

Completion is estimated for September 2011.

Cost to build the new barn is $48,000.

Your Donations are needed now.

We will keep the new barn simple, but well built, to save costs. Tommy and I will personally support any shortfall in donations to cover construction costs. If you could help our efforts with tax-free donations, it would be greatly appreciated. Every $20.00 donation or more moves us closer to our goal; every dollar helps.

A new 12-stall barn will help Cabin Creek Rescue better support the next round of retiring racehorses and returning adoptees. The new barn will also accomodate lay-up care and rehabilitation support that is needed for most retiring racehorses prior to placement.

We are hoping our retired horses have "touched" your heart as deeply as they have touched ours.
