Retire Your Racehorse

Cabin Creek Horse Rescue and Retirement Foundation offers racetrack associations, trainers and horse owners a direct avenue to compassionately retire Thoroughbred racehorses that can no longer complete.

RETIRE YOUR RACEHORSE - EASY AS 1, 2, 3

1. Simply Call Us. - Be prepared to discuss the general situation and physical condition of your horse.  You may ask us to discuss details with your veterinarian or trainer.  We will recommend the Retirement Level  that best suits the particular circumstances of your horse.

2. Reach Agreement. -
A minimum donation is needed for every retiring horse. Discounts may be available to reduce the costs for surgery, veterinary assistance, lay-up services, and extended board, if needed.  We can agree if special procedures, extended care, or Lifetime Retirement will be necessary.  Additional donations to defer a portion of our expenses can be agreed to upfront.

3. Arrange For Transportation. - We are located within minutes of US-78 in Bernville, PA.  Your horse will need a valid Coggins.  We will need the Jockey Club Certificate of Foal papers to transfer title. His or her racing career is over.

And then leave the rest to us.

Upon arrival, your horse will receive personalized care and special attention.  We manage all of the work needed to heal, rehabilitate, retrain, and then place your retiring racehorse into a safe, caring home through adoption.  We deal with the public for you, with the best interest of your horse at heart.  If desired, we can provide you with information regarding your horse's new home once placed. Some owners even establish a direct relationship with the new adopting family, realizing that most people would love to know the past racing history and special characteristics of their recently adopted horse. It's your choice.
